Back from the dead…

News Flash: Novak ‘clown prince’ ‘Djoker’ Djokovic defeated a thoroughly frozen Scot shrimp named Andy Murray to win Australian Open 2011. And since Roger Federer was out in the semi finals and Rafael Nadal lost in the quarter finals, in my mind the finals were  for the third place !!!

News Flash 2: In other news flash, the globalgirl is back from the dead and ready to rock the new year. She starts with what was a memorable but disappointing Aussie Open 2011.

Ok guys, I am back. And just in time to make sure I have entries for January as well :D. I kept busy in December, baking and eating and partying and I kept busy in January by losing sleep over 3AM australian open matches. Talk about dedication, however misplaced it might be !!! Not that it paid off much. Rafa lost out to Ferrer and injury (again). Roger lost out to Djokovic and experimentation (again). Andy Murray, inspite of being the terrific scramper and outstanding player that he is, grew roots and forgot tennis 101 in the finals (again). And Djokovic, the endearing won (again) ! But I was thrilled by Francesca Schiavone’s strength, guts and optimism (the female Rafa anyone), Li Na’s incredible sense of humor, Alexandr Dolgopolovs free spirit and ability to float, Bernard’s Tomic’s carefreeness and tomfoolery game (that pushed Rafa to a 1-4 set down before Rafa gave him a lesson on comebacks) and of course my fav, Kim Clijster giving Todd Woodbridge a non malicious snuffing of a lifetime !!!!!! Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes made it to the doubles final and lost (boohoo) while Venus Williams went out of the tournie, along with her absolutely slutty, shitty, trashy uniform (yippeeeee, some more of that and I would have lost my faith in the power of money !!!). Kim Clijsters turned the true Aussie Kim and she deserved to be the champion. All in all, memorable, funny but disappointing (no rafa, no roger= all dissapointment).

Next post coming soon 🙂
